About

Our Story

In the heart of Kisumu County, a small village in Kasule, a simple, powerful belief took root: education can break the cycle of poverty. This was the seed from which Kasule Tuelimishe Vijana (TUVI) grew in 2019.
We began by providing sanitary towels to needy girls, helping teen girls and children return to the classroom, but we soon realised that there was more to be done, to achieve the SDG 4 goal of Quality education for all. A girl needed support to stay in school. A teacher needed new skills for the digital age, and a community needed to understand the value of education. So, our mission, comprehensive and all-encompassing, grew to address these needs.

Today, we foster continuous  learning in formal education and skill development among children and young people. We have successfully provided school supplies and run book clubs that have sparked a love of reading among students. We have offered sports to teach leadership and health to young boys, and mentored young people in vocational training. We plan to collaborate with teachers and parents, and continue to train young climate champions, all with a significant impact.
Our vision is a future where every child, regardless of their background, has the skills and knowledge to thrive. We invite you to join our story, to be part of this inclusive community. Together, we can inspire, empower, and educate for a better tomorrow.

Partnerships

Our work is made possible through the collaboration of our dedicated team, volunteers, donors, and partnerships with local schools, communities, and organizations. Together, let’s create a world where education opens doors to a brighter tomorrow for every child and young person. Welcome to TUVI, where education transforms lives.

Community Engagement

We believe that community engagement is vital for sustainable change. TUVI actively involves stakeholders, including parents, local leaders, and community members, in our programs and initiatives. By fostering strong partnerships and collaboration, we ensure that our work addresses the specific needs and aspirations of the community.

Transparency and Accountability

At TUVI, we prioritize transparency and accountability in all our operations. We adhere to strict financial management practices and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. We provide regular reports to our stakeholders, showcasing the impact of their support and demonstrating our commitment to responsible management.

Advocacy and Awareness

In addition to our direct programs, TUVI advocates for education rights, menstrual hygiene awareness, and the importance of skill development. We conduct awareness campaigns, workshops, and community events to promote dialogue, challenge stereotypes, and break barriers that hinder access to education and skill enhancement.

Sustainability

TUVI is committed to sustainability in all aspects of our operations. We seek to build self-reliant communities by empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to create a better future for themselves and their families. We also work towards long-term financial sustainability through diversified funding sources and strategic partnerships.
